The Dreams of the City Turned into Books with VitrA

Focusing on the needs, expectations and dreams of cities and designed to discuss the city with the citizens of the city, the Dreams of the City with VitrA program has turned into a publication accompanied by the photographs of architect-photographer Cemal Emden.

The editor of the book was Müge Cengizkan, who was also the coordinator of the project.

The promotion of the book “CITY DREAM WITH VitrA” was held on Thursday, January 19 at Feriye Palace. Architect Gamze Özbal from Ikon Proje attended the event hosted by Eczacıbaşı Building Products Group President Atalay Gümrah, Vice Presidents Ali Aköz and Deniz Aktürk Erdem, where important names from architects to artists, from mayors to academicians came together.

Adana Seyhan Mayor Zeydan Kayalar, Seferihisar Mayor and Citta Slow President Tunç Soyer, as well as Abdullah Gül University Rector İhsan Sabuncuoğlu and his wife were also present at the event. Durmuş Dilekçi, Emre Arolat, Esin and Ahmet Tercan, Gamze Özbal, Gökhan Avcıoğlu, Hakan Helvacıoğlu, Han Tümertekin and Kerem Erginoğlu were among the architects participating in the launch. In addition to Project Coordinator Müge Cengizkan and panel moderator Yekta Kopan, actress Hakkı Ergök and CNN Türk’s economy and financial news presenter Cem Seymen also attended the event.

VitrA shared the dreams of cities in 2016. Focusing on the needs, expectations and dreams of cities, the Dreams of the City program with VitrA was designed to discuss the city with the citizens. Architects, academics and famous names who touched that city were hosted at the events on the journey that starts from Izmir and extends to Adana, Kayseri, Ankara and Antalya. Under the moderation of Yekta Kopan, dreams about cities were given a voice.

While VitrA carried these events into the book with the same name as the program, architect and photographer Cemal Emden shared the dreams of cities with his photographs. The editor of the book was Müge Cengizkan, who was also the coordinator of the project.
